So recently blogfriend Steamboat McGoo at Aardvarks & Asshats put up a post about some Steampunk chicks he’d found.  The first pic caught my eye and the first thing I said was “Nice hat!”  Then I began to wonder where I might acquire such a thing for myself.  To the internets!!   Lo and behold, there are many such things available. Particularly at Head ‘n Home where I found these two beauties:

Aren’t they gorgeous?  Then of course there’s the Stove Piper which is like the first one, only taller.  I was seriously considering the Stove Piper but it occurred to me that it’s probably a bit on the heavy side and that either one of these two would be more comfortable.

And of course it isn’t enough, I had to keep on looking and found Luna Rana’s hats on Etsy.  Aren’t those fun?  Oh decisions, decisions.

Excellent hat selection!

I’ll see your hats, and raise you some engraved knives on Etsy.

And here I thought it was all knitted change purses and bad paintings over there.

Thankee McGoo!

Whoa, a rare visit from The Stoated One! And tempting me with kniveses. Ah, very nice. And yeah, there’s tons of cool stuff at Etsy. Thanks for dropping by!

I’m making another attempt to get into Twitter, where I followed your link.

I’m having a hard time getting Twitter. I mean, yes…I get it, but it seems like a very high noise to signal ratio. And the best links turn up in people’s blogs anyhow.

Twitter, yes much of it’s rather, um there’s a word I want use, but I can’t think of it right now…anyway, yes I know what you mean. Still, it got you here – so it’s a successful twitter day. 😉 It’s great for people that are great at pithy things. Fred Thompson is one of the best – he’s a zinger machine.

Holy hell in a bucket of chicken, Mitch…. are you a-yorling again???

ROFL!!!

Mitchell - September 24, 2010

Yes! I can’t help myself. Oh, and I couldn’t decide between those two so I decided not to decide and just bought them both. 😀

Major a-Yorling.

Wise choice on the hats, Mitchell – if in doubt, buy ’em all and sort it out later.

Good catch, Weas… this knife on that site is a beauty: http://www.etsy.com/listing/45526386/engraved-leupold-big-rock-fixed-blade

Oh yes… are you still hooked on Girl Genius?

7. Mitchell - September 24, 2010

Oh, yes! In fact I even had a dream about Castle Heterodyne last week. 😀 But I’m caught up! So now I have to wait for each strip, which kinda sucks. Oh well. It gives me something to look forward to three times a week. I’ma gonna buy a poster too.

WTF is a-yorling? (showing my intertube ignorance I know).
I’m so disappointed that no one got my Firefly reference.

9. Mitchell - September 25, 2010

Welcome Larry! The term “Yorling” is something of an inside joke amongst a few blogs, so it’s definitely not a general intertube ignorance on your part. Without going into the details it generally means shopping for and buying cool (if somewhat pricey) items. Case in point, I just spent nearly $300 for that pair of hats yesterday. You can go through my previous posts and find plenty of prior examples. I do it a lot.

Did you make the Firefly reference here? I’m usually pretty good at picking those up.
