I just noticed that my link in the last post doesn’t reliably go to the current objects of my obsession so I took direct action to steal borrow their picture and put it here.  Ever since I was a kid I’ve wanted a pair of these.  Wesco calls them “Harness Boots” but I’ve always thought of them as “Engineer’s Boots”.  Dunno where I got that from but have any of y’all heard of that name?  Doesn’t really matter of course, I was was just wondering.
Boots of +5 to Badassiosity

Also, how cool would those be matched up with this coat?  Just sayin’.  Oh, and thanks to Lemur King for finding that one.

Finally, the folks at Saddleback stopped fooling around and got new merchandise posted.  Of course, I had to pick up a couple (small) things.  Check them out:  Moleskine covers.  Moleskines are really nice note & sketchbooks.  I have a few and I absolutely love them.  Hell, I never go anywhere without one in fact.  So I ordered one each of the small and medium covers.

Type at y’all later, I’m off to get new glasses.  Toodles!

Yes, sorry for the virtual disappearing act. It is busy at work and busy at home these days. I read everybody’s stuff, but I just don’t comment much lately. It’s a character flaw, I know, and I do try and work on it. Sometimes anyway.

So a little bit of catching up with some stuff. First off – I finished my bathroom!! YES!! It took the better part of FOUR weekends but I finally finished it off last Friday. It looks fantastic, I have to say. I took pictures, but I doubt they do it justice. I’ll put them up soon anyway so stay tuned. I also got some interesting ideas about the paint I used. I haven’t tried them out yet, but I plan to this weekend.

Item two: vacation plans! I was approved for two weeks off starting two weeks from today. The Parental Units & I are doing a Road Trip from Las Vegas to Jacskson Hole in Wyoming to go see the Grand Tetons. We’re going to stop by Salt Lake City on the way up and see what the Mormons are up to. On the way back we’re gonna swing down to the lower Utah / upper Arizona boarder and check out Monument Valley national park and finally swing through the lower end of Zion national park in western Utah. It will be really nice to get out of town and this dreadful heat. I will take my camera and get lots of pictures. I’m also taking my watercolor pad and paints and hopefully there will be some time and opportunity to get a few quick ones done. I dunno. We’ll see.

Item three – a new leather lusting!  No, it’s not more Saddleback stuff.  Well, yes ok there is some of that too, but that’s not what this is about.  This is about boots!  Specifically – these boots.   I WANT.  Very much bad.  The guy who runs Saddleback has a twitter account that I follow and yesterday he said that they will have some new merchandise soon!  That day in fact!  Alas, he then changed it to today, and now it looks like it’s been pushed back to tomorrow.  Anyway, they also have a facebook account and I got to see a few pictures of the new stuff coming out.  Very cool!  And, yes I plan to buy something.  Anyway, getting back to those awesome boots.  Someone on the facebook page asked if there was a boot maker kind of on the level of Saddleback’s bags and someone replied with a link to that West Coast Shoe Compay site.  I’ve always wanted some boots like those and now I’m obsessing on them.

I gotta go get my meds, so I’ll type at y’all some more later.

My latest purchase from Saddleback Leather came this morning! Yes, I bought another one; I needed it. Shut up, I did too need it. I’m getting back into knitting again and I thought that one of the little travel bags would be just the thing for a cool project bag. Check it out!

It’s absolutely the perfect size for standard size needles & crochet hooks and plenty of space for lots of yarn. Take a look inside:

I gotta say, I LOVE these things. After I bought the first two, I promised myself that I wasn’t going to buy anymore until one of these small bags popped up in the “Dave’s Deals” section where they sell some slightly irregular items at a discount. Well, I watched and waited for ages and none of them ever showed up so I figured that either they never make mistakes on these or they just don’t bother to sell them when they do. Regardless, I decided I’d just go ahead and get it, so I did. 🙂

I got nuffink.  For today anyway, but I will tomorrow so check back soon!  But for now you can listen to another cool trance song and ogle a pretty girl.  If’n you want to. The girl ogling I mean – that’s optional. Listening to the song is mandatory.

I haven’t put one of these up in a while.  Here’s a cool one I just put on the ‘pod – Amsterdam by Luminary:

As usual with the really good ones, there are a bunch of different versions out there.  Check them out!
