Happy International Women’s Day! March 8, 2010

To celebrate, how about a cool song, sung by an international woman?

She’s French, but in an American band singing in English, so she’s definitely international.  And a woman, as near as I can tell from a youtube clip.

Enjoy!

Yes, she does seem to have all the hallmarks of being a woman. Except I didn’t see her bring a man a beer…

(if that doesn’t elicit a feminine response, I don’t know what will)

Chicks dig bringing men beer.

(just to make sure)

Feeling kind of ornery tonight. Hope you’re doing well, Enas.

Eh, kinda in a funk lately. Maybe I’ll put up something about it tomorrow. But that’s all small potatos compared to your issues. I hope you’ll get to feeling better soon.

One thing I’m learning is to see things from different sides. My trials in no way lessen your trials. Just because you get a finger whacked off it is in no way suddenly “less than nothing” because somebody else lost a foot. You can’t compare stuff like that – it isn’t fair – because somewhere in the world there is always someone worse off.

Hope you de-funkify. Is that even a word? Well, it is now.

I hate that “International Women’s Day” crap….When do MEN get recognition, eh?? I despise modern-day feminism’s virulence with a passion. And I’ll have you know Hubby walks through the front door, and I go to the liquor cabinet to fetch the Jack Daniel Green or the Maker’s Mark. My Pavlovian contribution to SCIENCE!!!

Nice song though 😀

I figured you’d offer that kind of response LK. Still, it’s a perspective thing. It’s easy to dwell on the negative aspects of our lives and overlook the myriad blessings and other good things that we take for granted. I’ve had a pretty good morning so far and my defunkification is well under way. My potatos are approching microscopic proportions.

Oh I know Aggie. It was just a hook to hang the song on, and I had some other snark to go along with it, but I just didn’t have the ooomph to put it up.

Your husband is a lucky man and I’m sure he appreciates all the things you do for him, and vice-versa.

Oh, I was being ornery, Enas. My apologies 🙂

I just get riled up when the concept of “equality” is used as a propr for “superior rights.”

I need chocolate bad!!!!

Cool. I really enjoyed that, and I’d be far more than willing to explore the “French” aspect with said singer! *AHEM*

8. Enas Yorl - March 10, 2010

I know Aggie – no apologies necessary! So when is Lent over?

Yah, she’s really cute. But married. So no French Tickling for us Clambake.
