I Am a Sad Panda Today July 17, 2008

The web-filter thingy at work now blocks one of my favorite blogs:  Stoaty Weasel!  This is a black day indeed.  For some reason the filter deems dame Weasel’s site to be “Tasteless”.  WTF??  That’s so wrong on so many levels, I don’t even know where to start.  😦

Lunch surfing is now at least 20% less fun than it used to be.

Holy shit!! So I’m really on the list! I got blocked at work today and assumed it was local.

Any idea who does your filter, Enas? I’d like to complain, but obviously don’t want to do it through my own IT department.

BTW, your site has been blocked for me for a couple of weeks. First it was just the comments, and now it’s the front page.

[…] my local IT department noticing the suspicious stream of traffic going to one small weblog, but Enas says sweasel.com is blocked for him, too. The reason given him was “tasteless” — which, you know, I’d happily […]

Yah, it’s by Websense Enterprise. I never had a problem with your place until today. Well, actually I did get a block off a link in one of your comments yesterday for “Tasteless” too. Something about toilets for extra-largish people one of your minions posted. I’d forgotten about it until now. Maybe that’s triggering the issue for the whole site? I dunno how these things work.

I biffed that link and I’ll spend my weekend working up the courage to write Websense. I have an instinctive feeling it’s not a wise thing to do, but dammit…my own website is blocked at my own work! I walk my blogroll every day, and they expect me to do that on my OWN time? Have they seen the size of that thing?

Many blogs are blocked at my work as well… calling them inappropriate for work… or an onling dating site (???)… Luckily – thus far… a few of the good ones are still open and not hidden behind what I call “Maximum Security Firewalls.”

Seen you around… thought I would stop in and say hi.

Hey, thanks! Now that Lemur King is on vacation you can fill in for him as one of my two readers.

I’m gong to try and start posting more regularly.

I’m sure you have more than two readers… but I will do my best to fill in said shoes – but trust me… ‘same.. same but VERY different”

Oh, but I’m never far away, Enas… I’m always “watching”.

(sinister Psycho music in background)

No, I’m just in and out of touch, depending on travel, the location’s web-accessibility, and how gosh-darned hot the desert is (DAMN hot, but it is dry heat). Next week should be the Willamette Valley in Oregon, where it’s hot-moderate-cool on alternating days. And green…it is oh so green. Wait till I post pics of that. Just the desert pics I posted today are enough to make one pine for the NW instead of Michigan again. (ow ow ow ow – pining is painful)

Desert. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Well, have fun anyway!
