I totally swiped this from Fazed: a chart showing movie box office receipts for the last 20 years. It takes a bit to figure out what you’re looking at, but it’s really neat when you do. The big movies are identified for you, hover over the smaller segments to get a title pop up, and click them to get a quickie review.

That was the most interesting thing I have seen all day, Enas.
Is it just me and my expectations, or do the number of hits and total gross receipts seem to dwindle over the last decade or so? Hollywood’s been fading for years.
What am I doing wrong? I can’t find a way to make it scroll to the older films?
Sorry, I didn’t play long enough with it. I can see it all now. Very interesting, and I think I had a painting in my apartment that looked just like it in 1976.
