Hey! You get new artwork for your Friday! I’ve done a couple others in this class so far, but they didn’t turn out too well. This one is not bad. Clicky for full size.
I like how I handled the water in the foreground particularly. The instructor wants me to submit it for this fall’s student art show. Only stuff done in class this year is eligible and the instructor has to sign off on all entries.
For the next piece I’m going to do I’m going to try it out on Clayboard. Should be fun!

Yes, I suck much windage at this blog thing lately. And yes, you can blame the Xbox. Anyway, here’s something else to look at. I bought a couple of things up in Virginia City during my visit. Behold – a dragon tooth!
Clicky for full, glorious size. Nice huh? But wait, there’s more:

Bmac’s buddy Kramer has got a serious problem – cancer. See if you can spare some scratch for some chemo. I put up a pledge a short while ago and it’s easy – peasy.

I’ve decided to go ahead and get the dang thing: an Xbox 360. I’m sick of not being able to play all these cool games they have out now. Anybody have any suggestions for favorite games to get?

I’ve been back since Sunday and still no pictures of the fabled Camel Races! Steamboat McGoo rightly takes me to task for this. Alas, I am at work and I have class later so there’s little time to rectify the situation today. I took over 400 pictures of our trip up and the places we visited.
Here’s a quick one of the racers in the gates:
Some people had a hard time staying on their camel.
More later!

Hello! I’m off to a little vacation to get a break from the heat around here. I’m not going far though – just up to the Reno area where I’ll visit nearby Virginia City to watch the 47th Annual International Camel Races! Virginia City is an interesting place and the site of the famous Comstock Silver Lode. Maybe I’ll get my parents to take the mine tour this time around. They chickened out the last time we were there. We get back sometime Sunday and I’ll have lots of pictures!
