Advancements in technology, coming to a store near you – Microsoft’s Photosynth.  Found over at Twenty Sided.  Oh, we won’t see it in widespread use for a few years, I expect, but it really gives you a sense about where this whole computer thing is going.  Amazing times we live in eh?

That’s scary-cool. And of course its first use will be to form models of babes.

I find it scary from a privacy POV that someone could take some innocuous photo posted on a blog that had something distinctive in the background(mountains, buildings, etc), and somehow piece it into a mess of other stuff and have the location of your home somehow pop out the other end.

People are going to have to be very very careful about cropping and editing their pics to remove anything that might be usable by a system like this.

Its sad, but we are living a a post-Deb Frish world, where the stalkers are real and will exploit a technology like this in a heartbeat.

Wow.

That was an amazing presentation, his sibilant ess not withstanding.
Words like ‘collective memory’ are taking on a relevance now that science fiction writers only dreamed of.

The best part are the collective orgasmic gasps from the crowd.
